Founded in 1991, the association provides educational services for indigenous inhabitants. It cooperates with women's organizations in Russia and abroad. Recent highlights of the organization include the participation of its director in the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. The association publishes materials about women's issues in local newspapers and has its own monthly supplement to the newspaper Mirninski Worker, called Businesswoman Plus.
