The project is designed to assist Moldova in building national capacity and in professionally managing development of various projects.The core professional staff was given intensive training in project management and the use of modern management tools and techniques. Within this context, PPIC provides professional project management services that are timely and cost effective. The Center provides professional project management services to UNDP assisted projects and operates within the rules and regulations of the UN System. PPIC also provides the above services to the programmes/projects of other development partners. As the Center expands its services and clients, it will gradually require less support from UNDP. It is expected that by the end of the project, PPIC will be a self reliant national management service organization using professional staff and modern management systems and will have developed its own operations management manuals on policies and procedures.

The PPIC project is expected to fill the national project crisis management gap through the implementation of a professional national project management service organization. PPIC starts managing UNDP assisted nationally executed projects and later other target beneficiaries: the management and personnel of donor assisted projects and programmes in Moldova, including, sectoral Ministries and Departments of the Government, participating NGOs, and other national institutions.
