The Initiatives Support Center originally evolved out of the NET Alumni Center (part of the NIS Exchanges and Training Project funded by USAID) to provide educational and material resources to organizations of NET alumni. Today, the Initiatives Support Center offers its services to all NGOs, as well as commercial and governmental organizations.
The Center provides a variety of business resources, such as copying, printing, Internet/e-mail access, and conference rooms. The Center also holds training sessions and offers consultations aimed at already established, "mid-level" NGOs who may need additional support to realize their projects.
A print version of much of the information contained in this Central Asian Third Sector Organizations section can be found in Civil Society in Central Asia (Seattle: University of Washington Press, 1999).
