The Institute of Business, Management and Tourism is a structural subdivision, which was established by judgment of the Government of Kyrgyz Republic on September 15, 1992 and by solicitation of Kyrgyz Republic's State Committee on August 24, 1994. The Institute is a state educational institution on national economy realizing educational and professional programs of higher-education training and re-training of entrepreneurs and specialists in the field of small and medium-sized businesses.
Aims and Tasks
The main tasks of the Institute are: to satisfy needs of citizens in taking of high education in field of management, bank activity, hotel-tourism business, retraining and raising the level of specialists and entrepreneurs skills, retraining and adaptation of unemployed, and carrying out the methodological and research works. The main focus is on small and middle-sized business and the preferable direction for the Republic, which determines the peculiarity of the Institute. One of the main aims of the Institute is to publicize and to support the prestige of entrepreneurs.
Activities
A basic educational and methodological program in all subjects has been organized. In elaboration of curricula and syllabi, especially the subjects which convey the essence and mechanisms of marketing, was studied and applied, based on the experience of teaching these subjects in a number of educational institutions in the USA, Denmark, Sweden, Austria; and also tailored to meet the needs of Kyrgyzstan's economic development.
The curricula and syllabi were improved during a period of intensive training, and underwent an examination and received a high mark at educational councils of Ordjenikidze State Academy's administration, the Ministry of Science, High Education and Technical policy of Russian Federation and Institute of Improvement of Skills of Ministry of Labor and Social Problems of Russian Federation.
Using any forms and methods of teaching management and business, as accepted in international practice, and acting in close cooperation with private and public organizations, the Institute has the capability of assisting Vocational Training Schools, Enterprises, Associations, Ministries and Departments, and local/state Administrations in the training and improving business skills of entrepreneurs in problems of economy, management finances, legal relations in the field of business, and to develop consulting opportunities. A special kind of activity carried out at the Institute is the further training and social adaptation of unemployed people.
In 1994 an agreement was reached with the EU-NET organization (Denmark) for elaboration and realization of a project entitled "Development course of management and business undertaking" (in 1994-95). Within the bounds of completed Danish project at the Institute, short-term courses are being organized to train entrepreneurs for small and medium-sized businesses.
It's necessary that the Institute cooperate closely with partner educational institutions of developed countries of the World for the successful realization of the basic problem of specialists-entrepreneurs' training. Organization of an exchange of students and instructors would promote and enhance the training of highly skilled specialists.
