This year the South Kazakhstan regional branch of the International Antinuclear Movement celebrates its 10th anniversary. The South Kazakhstan branch was the first NGO in the region and has played a positive role in the democratization of the society. Nowadays, the main problem is the health condition of the Abai district population in the East Kazakhstan region. South Kazakhstan provides free of charge hospitals and sanatoria for them, but it needs sponsors for travel expenses for travel and return by 100 persons from the Abai district to South Kazakstan--and if it is possible food and medicine. ($5,500 is the total cost of travel, or $55/person.)Please comtact them with any information about possible sponsors. They are interested in long-term cooperation.
