The foundation promotes the civil rights of homosexuals and greater societal acceptance of sexual minorities. It also provides AIDS education for sexual minorities and youth. Contrast is lobbying for changes in Kazakstan's criminal code regarding crimes connected to homosexuality. It also plans to publish a weekly newspaper and to hold a seminar on "Democracy and the Gay Rights Movement."
