Dear friends,

We are glad to inform you that on 25th of June, 1999, the new organization was created in Georgia. The name of the organization is "Georgian Peace Council". The main mission of the Council is to unite the efforts and coordination "from below" in the sphere of conflict resolution and settlement. The founder organizations are:

1. Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Committee of Georgia
2. International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) - Committee of Georgia
3. Studio "Re"
4. PEACE - INFO
5. The Foundation for Solidarity of Caucasus Peoples (Caucasian House)
6. Caucasian Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development
7. The Public Information Center "Alternative"
8. International Center for Conflicts and Negotiations
9. Terrorism and Political Violence Research Center
