Centre for Training and Consultancy

Centre for Training and Consultancy (CTC) is a non-governmental, nonprofit organization, registered in 24th of December 1999 (Registration number 1-7788). CTC aims at civil society development in Georgia through strengthening the third sector.

CTC builds its activity upon the conviction that strong and independent NGOs might and should play an important role in the process of social reforms in Georgia in order to raise the awareness of basic values like human dignity, individual freedom, social justice, equal chances, gender equity, empowerment and participation of underprivileged and marginalized groups. Only if such values are shared by the wider society a sustainable development towards a just and civil society will become possible. NGOs should encourage people to take initiative and individual responsibility for social change and to participate actively in the process of social reconstruction.

CTC is acting as an intermediary to the implementing NGOs. CTC analyses social trends and develops the most appropriate response to challenges faced by implementing NGOs. At the moment, one of the major ways to be able to respond to the magnitude of social issues and problems is a sufficient professionalism. CTC supports the institutional development of the NGO sector, strengthens the organizational management capacity of local NGOs and promotes mutual understanding, co-operation and exchange between local NGOs, between different groups and sectors of the society, between organizations from different Eastern European--especially Caucasian--countries and between local and Western organizations.

CTC activities derive from experience of its founders. It is important to mention that CTC has shared Georgian - Western experience. The skills of CTC core staff will be complemented by local and foreign associated specialists for particular training, consultancy and research work. CTC is also assisted by foreign health and development expert with an extensive international experience. All this ensures, that its services are relevant and of high quality.

A main CTC partner is the Dutch organization Management for Developmental Foundations (MDF). MDF experts assist CTC staff in strategy development, further education of local trainers and consultants, and in the setup of an internal system for supervision, monitoring and evaluation.
