The Belarussian Socio-Ecological Union " Chernobyl"
The Belarussian Socio-Ecologic Union "Chernobyl" represents a non-profit organization, grassroots movement actively involved in the creation and development of the third sector in Belarus, regardless of the critical political and social difficulties. One of the key factors of the work of the organization is that they are in the area most traumatized by the results of the disaster at the Chernobyl Atomic Energy Power Plant. They are working in cooperation with other NGOs, the Soros Foundation, The Eurasia Foundation and ISAR, in a number of joint projects in the following areas:
- Ecology
- Environmental Protection
- Health Education (AIDS, Alcholism, Quiting Smoking and more)
- Political Sciences
- Sociology
- Rule of Law
- Administrative Education
- International Social Relations
At the present time, the fulfillment of many projects is rather difficult, a result of the almost complete shutdown of the Belarusian Soros Foundation, whose financing made possible the fulfillment of their ideas and created a environment that catylized new and interesting initiatives.
They are requesting cooperation for the needed financing in the areas of their work. They are experienced and compliant with standards of western practices and are looking for new partnerships and contacts.
