Khazar University is a leading academic institution of Azerbaijan. Established in 1991 in the capital city Baku, it became the first ever private university of the CIS countries. Khazar is a research-oriented university with strong, innovative academic programs geared towards upbringing a generation of leaders for a new democratic, open model of society and the emerging market economy. As Azerbaijan's broadening integration into the world economy places an increasing demand for English-speaking professionals, Khazar University provides education predominantly in English in order to satisfy this demand. The degree to which English is used at Khazar creates a comfortable communication environment for international professors and students.

With its outstanding faculty and dedicated students, Khazar University envisions its mission as creating a better future for Azerbaijan by contributing into advances in science and increasing the nation's intellectual capital.
