Khazar University is a leading academic institution of Azerbaijan. Established in 1991 in the capital city Baku, it became the first ever private university of the CIS countries. Khazar is a research-oriented university with strong, innovative academic programs geared towards upbringing a generation of leaders for a new democratic, open model of society and the emerging market economy. As Azerbaijan's broadening integration into the world economy places an increasing demand for English-speaking professionals, Khazar University provides education predominantly in English in order to satisfy this demand.
