The Humanitarian Association of Jewish Women was formed June 10, 1992 through the initiative of Jewish women in Azerbaijan. They describe themselves as "united in creative non-commercial organization for the purpose of activism for their social concerns, for peacemaking, philanthropic activity, and strengthening of international ties".
