Independent Consumers' Union was established in January 31, 1997. It is the only NGO in Azerbaijan which attempts to defend consumers' rights, to increase their awareness, to identify and promote the proper interests of consumers and the means of their protection, and to provide a channel for consumer opinion and representation.The purpose is to create conditions which promote the interests of consumers' by improving the standards of goods and services of all kinds and to ensure that those who make decisions affecting consumers have a balanced and authorative view of their users' interests before them.
ICU would like to build contacts with similar organizations to form partnerships, create joint projects and gain more experience in their field.
