The Women Economists' Union was founded in 1997 as a noncommercial, nonprofit organization. Its goals are:
to participate in the structural reforms currently being undertaken in Armenian government;
to reveal the potential abilities of woman economists and efficiently apply them in various activities undertaken by the organization;
to support the cooperation of women economists engaged in theoretical and practical activities, thus promoting the applied nature of economics;
to organize and conduct seminars;
and to establish relationships with local and foreign organizations , as well as with individuals.
The Union is currently seeking support for its translation program of educational material and textbooks on Economics. They are actively interested in beginning an internship program with partner organizations.
