TANIQ Center for Assistance and Civil Rights Protection is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, which was created and registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia in February 1998. The organization's goals are to help Armenia become a rule-of-law state and to contribute to the establishment and strengthening of democratic institutions in Armenia through advocating for citizens' civil rights.
To meet these goals, Taniq plans:
- to organize seminars, conferences, and TV-discussions on citizens' civil rights;
- to widely publicize in the mass media violations of civil rights, which are documented by the organization's experienced lawyers;
- to compile and disseminate the major articles Armenia's Civil Code;
- to participate in the drafting of a new Civil Code.
Taniq has developed a project, "Taniq-Rating," to support stabilization of the legal environment in Armenia.
Taniq-Rating consists of three phases:
Taniq will widely publicize the major articles of the Civil Code, especially among state-owned and private enterprises, through publication of brochures, mass media, seminars and consultations.
It will design a series of programs on the Civil Code to be broadcast on national and private TV channels and local radio.
It will conduct public opinion polls and collect complaints from citizens to determine the level of violations and observance of citizens' civil rights. The results of the analysis will be made public in Armenia, as well as in the United States and European countries.
If you are interested in assisting with the Taniq-Rating project, please contact Taniq for a more detailed project description.
