The charitable non governmental organization Aregak ("Sun") began its activity in 1996 pursuing the purpose to study social conditions of children-orphans in Armenia, their public condition and to assist in their social development.

Armenia is a new developing country and its socio-economic situation is quite grave. The main missions of their organization are:

--to assist needy and crippled children to meet their essential daily needs,
--to help indigent pensioners, orphans and disabled persons,
--to organize medical service for needy and crippled children,
--to improve the provision of medical services,
--to cultivate benevolent traditions and practices.

PROGRAMS

The organization serves more than 10.000 children- orphans are registered, their needs, conditions of health, housing conditions and the conditions of their guardians are subjected to analysis. Programs are organized based on the individual needs of orphans, children, their guardians, and pensioners.
