AREA strives to: support the private real estate brokerage, management and maintenance industries; assist the development of the real estate market in Armenia; and advocate members' interests in the community and in various government institutions. This is accomplished through the use of integrated information systems, organized training programs and market research.

The union's goals include the defense of the legal and economic interests of merchants and consumers (especially women consumers) in Armenia and creation of a respected legal environ-ment for this purpose. Projects include the publication of a specialized newspaper Zarkerak, and the NUNE enterprise.
