NGO Training and Resource Center
The NGO Training and Resource Center is a project of the Armenian Assembly of America funded by USAID through a Cooperative Agreement with Save the Children. The goal of the Center is to help Armenia grow as a democratic nation through the development of Armenian Non-Governmental Organizations.There are about 300 local NGOs registered with the Center. They support a diverse group of indigenous NGOs so that they can respond effectively to short-term emergency and long-term development needs in Armenia.
NGO Services:
- ten-week training program focusing on the leadership and management of the organization;
- technical assistance to help participants implement change within their organization;
- public relations department to raise public awareness about NGO Sector in Armenia and to promote their activities and projects;
- seminar/workshop series.
Their fully equipped Resource Center provides up-to-date, reliable information, access to e-mail, computers, databases and library of printed materials on variable subjects. At this point their library holds more than 1000 titles in print. Besides access to books on various subjects, the library also serves as an information source on addresses of different local and international organizations.
They have several organizations that are dealing with development education issues and are interested in receiving information that would be interesting/relevant for the work that NGOs undertake in Armenia.
