Resources for Economists on the Internet (EconFAQ)

The EconFAQ includes a section on electronic mailing lists broken down by subject. It includes directions on how to subscribe and, in some cases, provides very brief information about the type of discussion the list carries. Two such lists are:

Business-SL
For students around the world studying business and economics. Students join by having their teacher first register their class. Then the students join the Intro-SL list where they learn basic listserv etiquette and procedures. They can then join the Business-SL list.

Teachers can register their classes by sending a message to [email protected] stating:

The teacher will be placed on a special list for teachers involved with the project and will receive a document describing the project in more detail and an orientation handout for students.

Econ-business-educators
Managed by Richard Young, who maintains the Biz/Ed Web site, this list averages 10-15 messages a month. Young does a good job of letting list members know about new resources he has found. To subscribe, send the message (all on one line): subscribe econ-business-educators firstname lastname to: [email protected]
