Sacred Earth Network (SEN) announces the 4th edition of its Directory of Environmental Electronic Mail Users in Eurasia, a comprehensive resource designed “to help organizations and individuals communicate with Eurasians who are working to protect and heal their beautiful land.” Available in mid-November, the Directory lists 425 active electronic mail users and provides in-depth profiles of 160 groups. The paper used is tree-free, made entirely from the kenaf plant.
According to SEN, non-governmental environmental organizations (NGOs) in the former Soviet Union play an important role at home and abroad. Their dedicated professional and volunteer members strive to provide reliable information about current conditions and the effectiveness of remedial or conservation techniques. As international collaboration grows, e-mail has become vital to the efficient develop-ment and implementation of environmental programs.
Sacred Earth Network (SEN) offers an important networking service among the Western and Eurasian environmental activist communities. It has provided equipment and training that has directly enabled more than 300 Eurasian environ-mental groups to communicate via electronic mail. Leanne Grossman of ISAR has called the Directory, “The most thorough and useful guide to grassroots environmental organizations in the former Soviet Union.”
The Directory may be purchased for $20, which includes shipping and handling. International orders, please add $5 for shipping. To order, send check or money order to the Sacred Earth Network.
