The OMRI Daily Digest is perhaps the single best source of news of Eastern Europe and the former USSR. (OMRI is the successor of Radio Free Europe/ Radio Liberty.) The Digest is a compilation of 2-4 paragraph news stories which comes once a day. Every two weeks the Digest includes a special election supplement . . .

In yet another confusing twist, OMRI has made another name change BACK to the original name of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) on March 28 1997. The information services and the listserv live on through RFE/RL. Stories before March 28 are available on the OMRI site listed above. The new list, and stories after stories after April 2, 1997 are available on the RFE/RL site.
