Medialist: A Guide to Media Organizations and Their E-Mail Addresses
Individuals working on third sector projects in Eastern Europe, Eurasia or Central Asia may occasionally wish to submit letters, essays, or story ideas to newspapers, magazines, TV stations or other media outlets. In the past, the dubious quality of some postal services, or the high cost of long distance calls and faxes, greatly inhibited
doing this. Now the Internet makes it possible, and at very low cost. But how to know which media organizations accept electronic submissions? And how to know their e-mail addresses?
The answer to these questions is now available in an excellent on-line file named MediaList, compiled by Adam Gaffin, author of "Everybody’s Guide to the Internet," with the assistance of Kevin Brook and others. The last update of MediaList was done in January. Gaffin says the next one will be ready by July.
Examples of some of the media organizations and e-mail addresses provided by MediaList follow.

Gaffin also offers the following tips to MediaList users: "If you want a publication to print your letter, include your postal address and phone number for verification purposes. Also, please consider NOT using this list to send a mass mail-ing to every single listed media outlet."
Kelly Campbell at Kansas State University also maintains a World Wide Web server with links to on-line editions of commercial and college newspapers. It's available at:
