E-mail is a tremendous vehicle for
communicating with people in the NIS, and it is growing very rapidly. But
how do you find a person or institutions e-mail address there if you don’t
know it ahead of time? For those wishing to contact friends in the NIS
"intelligentsia," IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board) has
made this task a lot easier, by creating a sort of NIS
academic-plus-others e-mail Directory Assistance at its Gopher site.

To reach the e-mail address lists from the main menu of the IREX gopher, choose "Computer and Communications." You will then be given another menu, with this as one of its choices:
