IREX Gopher Helps Find NIS E-Mail Addresses


E-mail is a tremendous vehicle for communicating with people in the NIS, and it is growing very rapidly. But how do you find a person or institutions e-mail address there if you don’t know it ahead of time? For those wishing to contact friends in the NIS "intelligentsia," IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board) has made this task a lot easier, by creating a sort of NIS academic-plus-others e-mail Directory Assistance at its Gopher site.

To reach the IREX site, "gopher" to this address: info.irex.org

To reach the e-mail address lists from the main menu of the IREX gopher, choose "Computer and Communications." You will then be given another menu, with this as one of its choices:

"Addresses for NIS Scholars and Institutes"
Press "Enter" and you will have what you are looking for. For example:
