Ecostan News


"Ecostan News" is an English language monthly electronic bulletin which carries reports on the environment and environmental movements in Karakalpakstan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Published since September 1993 and edited by Eric Sievers, "Ecostan News" is a joint publication of the Law and Environment Eurasia Partnership, based in West-on, Massachusetts, and Green Salvation, based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Sievers has worked in Central Asia since 1991 and currently serves as Tashkent Resident Manager for American Legal Consortium.

Although primarily devoted to environmental issues, "Ecostan News" carries reports on a variety of topics. The last three issues have included stories on:

Many of the issues include contact information for the non-governmental organizations mentioned in the articles.
