By Valery V. Sobolev
This 4.5 page article, published in the May 1994 issue of Network World, Russia, is an excellent introduction--in Russian--to modems: how they work, how to install them properly, and more. The magazine’s Russian name is SETI (Zhurnal po Komputernym setyam i telekommunikatsionnym Tekhnologiyam) and it is published monthly in Moscow. (Circulation was about 20,000 in 1994.)

Author Sobolev works for a firm "AO InfoteKS," whose telephone number in Moscow is (7-095) 158-28-93. His article also refers readers to additional materials which will help them connect to the global computer networks.
