FSUmedia

FSUmedia is a new Listserv that focuses on discussion of the NIS media, particularly newspapers, radio, and television. FSUmedia is a project of Internews and is moderated by Eric Johnson, who is very knowledgeable about the Internet and has been a very helpful member of a number of NIS-related listservs. Johnson has also traveled extensively in Central Asia, Ukraine, and elsewhere in the NIS and has done a good job of ensuring that FSUmedia has not become Russo-centric.

FSUmedia is a young list--it was launched in early August 1994--and averages 1-2 messages a day. Postings focus on recent developments related to journalists, journalism training, and the media business.

List subscribers include people from the West and NIS. Postings can be in English or Russian (in Latin characters). In consideration of subscribers in the NIS who pay by-the-byte for their e-mail, postings are kept fairly short.
