Of all the Listservs related to the NIS, E-Europe has one of the best "news-to-noise" ratios, which means that there is a lot of good and useful information on it. Although its full title is Eastern Europe Business Network, postings on E-Europe also cover the NIS and include a wide variety of topics. E-Europe includes a circle of very knowledgeable subscribers who use E-Europe to "broadcast" news and announcements and who regularly post information they have found on other Listservs that relate to the NIS and Eastern Europe.
Postings on E-Europe include new Internet resources, conference announcements, sample issues and subscription information for electronic journals, project information, and job announcements in such areas as agriculture, business, the environment, health, law, and some politics. If you can't find what you are looking for, chances are that a query posted to E-Europe will result in the information you seek.
E-Europe is a modestly "heavy traffic" list with an average of 5-10 messages a day. A recent month's worth of messages accounted for more than 300,00 bytes of disk space.
