Information on a variety of health care issues in the NIS is now available on the Internet from the NISHEALTH list. This mailing list is managed by the Department of International Projects at the National Public Health and Hospital Institute (NPHHI) sponsored by the American International Health Alliance. The NISHEALTH list provides assessments of health care conditions in the NIS; announcements of health care related conferences, resources and projects; and articles and other information on medical practices in the NIS. Postings to the mailing list are divided into several categories, including:

• Nursing
• Maternal/Child Health.
• Infection Control/Infectious Diseases
• Education
• Management and Finance

You will receive a questionnaire asking some basic information about you and why you are interested in NISHEALTH. You will then receive indices of articles periodically, from which you can request up to ten articles a day.

You can obtain an E-mail Directory of over 100 health professionals involved in health care in the NIS and/or Eastern Europe. The directory lists individuals who have been in contact with the NISHEALTH list and have given permission for their name to be used. It includes contact information with e-mail address, areas of interest or expertise, and individual activities, projects, and research. Request the directory once you have subscribed to the list above.
