In late 1992, the National Science Foundation selected three organizations to provide and coordinate certain services to the Internet community. General Atomics in San Diego contracted to provide information services, AT&T to provide directory and databa
se services, and Network Solutions, Inc. (NSI) to provide registration services. Together these are known as the InterNIC project.
For example, the "InfoSource" is a collection of information designed to make finding out about the Internet easier. There are sections for getting started and for general information, which may be of interest to everyone. To access the Info-Source, sen
