Dear colleagues,We would like to introduce you to the Unit for Eastern European Economies of the Bank of Finland (Finland's central bank) and our website.
Due to the long-standing political and commercial significance of Russia and Eastern Europe to Finland, the Bank of Finland maintains a unique research resource dedicated to the study of these economies in transition. The unit's primary mission is to monitor and provide economic analysis of developments in economies in transition, particularly Russia and the Baltic states.
As part of a central bank organization, the unit enjoys the benefits of independence in its research and access to an exceptionally diverse range of international databases and other information sources. Through these resources, the unit provides a central banking perspective in its analysis of subjects such as monetary stabilization and development of financial systems. Research includes analyses of economic policy and trade policy, and focuses on trends both at the national level and in international integration.
We issue two regular publications:
- Russian and Baltic Economies - The Week in Review
