Funders Online, an initiative of the European Foundation Centre, aims to promote the use of Internet technology among independent funders in Europe and to create a single point of reference to Europe's philanthropic community.The Funders Online website features the first Internet directory of independent funder websites. Through Funders Online, users can access the websites of 300+ foundations and corporate funders in Europe with a total annual expenditure of over 3.5 billion euros.
The directory is designed to classify both foundation and corporate funder website details as well as types of activities. It aims to facilitate online funding information research and to increase the visibility of the online independent funding community. Funders can get involved by registering their website with Funders Online. Funders who do not yet have a website can make use of the Funders Online model websites - a fully operational tool which enables funders to create a simple web presence with a minimum knowledge of HTML.
Further, Funders Online offers access to a wealth of other Internet resources on philanthropy and publishes major news from the independent funding community.

Funders Online is an initiative of the European Foundation Centre Orpheus Programme. The mission of the European Foundation Centre (EFC) is to promote and underpin the work of foundations and corporate funders in the New Europe. Orpheus, the information and communications programme of the EFC, provides a public record and a public information service on foundations and corporate funders active in Europe. Funders Online is also part of ARIES, the electronic information service of the social economy in Europe.
