How to subscribe to PH-TeachPH-TEACH is a new on-line discussion forum for educators to discuss practical and theoretical issues relating to the use of e-mail and the Internet for educational exchange with international partners. This list is owned and moderated by Project Harmony and is administered in conjunction with the Internet School Linkage Program funded by the Soros Open Society Institute.
The primary impetus for creating this list came from Project Harmony's Internet School Linkage Program. This program matches 15 US high schools with 15 schools in the NIS. Computer teams in each school will work closely with their colleagues in their partner school to create and carry out Internet-based educational projects in a variety of subject areas. We invite other teachers to become involved with this program by taking part in on-line discussions and working to develop projects with other interested schools. This list can be a good place to find partners and expand ideas.
Posts to the list should aim to achieve one of the following goals:
- stimulate new and innovative project ideas, primarily for students at the secondary school level
- assist teachers in the US and NIS to find colleagues abroad who are interested in collaborating on project development
- facilitate an exchange of experiences and lessons learned from those who have carried out such projects
- exchange information and reviews of on-line resources (websites, listservs, etc.) of interest to teachers
- post questions regarding technical, administrative or pedagogical issues of educational use of the Internet
We encourage all interested educators to join the list. When you join the list, please introduce yourself to the group.
Be sure to include:
- who you are and the location of your school
- current partnerships your school has or would be interested in finding
- grade level and subject areas you teach
- any specific areas or topics of interest
- short description of how you use or would like to use e-mail and Internet in your classes.
