The center for Liberal-Democratic Studies (CLDS) is a nonparty, non-governmental and non-profit research institution.The CLDS was founded to promote:

- The study of the democratic institutions in the FRY;
- The study and publication of liberal thought;
- Protection of human rights and individual liberty;
- Education of citizens for taking part in democracy.

Who is who in CLDS:
Dr Zoran Vacic, the president of the CLDS, is mostly involved in research of social and health policy, and the functioning of democratic institutions in FRY. He was an MP in the Serbian Parliament from 1993 to 1997 on the behave of the Democratic Party, and he is currently the editor of library Paviljon 38. Among his publications are articles on health and social policy, pension systems, and political philosophy, and the book Why such a parliament? (1999).
Miroslav Prokopijevic, Ph.D., vice-president of the CLDS, is a senior research fellow of the Institute for European Studies in Belgrade. His interests are centered on issues in public choice and political philosophy, and his publications include the following books: Understanding and rationality (1989), Towards market democracy (1996, co-author), Human rights (1996), Electoral systems (1998), Constitutional economics of the European Union (1998).
Bosko Mijatovic, Ph.D., the president of the Advisory board of the CLDS, is a senior research fellow of the Economics Institute, Belgrade. He deals with public policy, transitional issues, finance and social insurance. He is the editor of the two journals: Ekonomska Misao and Industrija. His publications include books: Privatization (1993), Economics, politics and transition (1998), and Privatization: necessity or choice (ed., 1994).
