The chief aims of the Foundation include:

• eliminating prejudice, discrimination, mistrust and animosity toward persons who represent different nations and have another cultural background
• disseminating information about the European Union and United Nations as well as about other International organisations
• promoting attitudes of tolerance in Polish society

While carrying out its activities the Foundation wishes to cooperate with state and local administrations, various Polish and foreign organisations as well as with private persons.

The Foundation seeks to establish close contact with local authorities, schools' headmasters and sponsors so that it can launch an active educational campaign aimed at the young generation.

The Foundation's operation is based on the contributions made by volunteers and is active both in Poland and abroad.

The Foundation's future youth-for-youth organisation and activity will be carried out mainly among young people, based on the Foundation's belief that they need to build the new reality and should be given a chance to perceive persons of other nationalities without prejudice.

"ANKRA" was established on 24 April 1997
