Internet Resources for the NIS

Internet Resources for the NIS is a product of CCSI's intensive work with the Internet, including the development in 1994 of a major section of the prize-winning Friends and Partners site on the World Wide Web. Internet Resources for the NIS is an introduction to a variety of important resources on the Internet for those interested in the institutional reform process in the NIS. It includes:

• profiles 11 other important World Wide Web sites, such as the IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board) Gopher site;
• describes and tells how to find a couple dozen individual files that are exceptionally useful reference items (e.g., a Rule of Law database);
• explains one of the most interactive applications of the Internet--the so-called Listserv, or electronic mailing list--and provides readers with information, including sign-up procedures, on some of the most active NIS-related Listservs currently operating;
• indicates a variety of regular sources of electronic news about the NIS, via the Internet;
• provides a long list of Internet access providers in the NIS;
