"Novinskoye/Interunity" was set up in 1989 as a Russian-British-Panamanian for-profit joint-stock company. In 1990 it started its charitable program, which included production of new and restoration of second-hand wheelchairs and other equipment for disabled people. The majority of equipment is donated by foreign charitable organizations and individuals, mainly from Switzerland, France, Malta, Germany and Scandinavian countries. Still these deliveries are quite occasional, and "Novinskoye" is looking for a reliable and long-term partnership to expand its activities throughout central Russia.

The wheelchairs are distributed to the disabled free of charge. "Novinskoye" charitable branch also fixes, disseminates and services equipment and devices for the disabled. Since 1990 "Novinskoye" produced and distributed 800 wheelchairs (580 of them in 1993).

Another charitable project "Novinskoye" is involved in is aimed at providing medical treatment for Russian children abroad in cases of emergency. During the first year and a half "Novinskoye" is going to take all the expenses, but to promote these activities it would really like to find a foreign partner. "Novinskoye" would pay for transportation, and would like the partner to pay for medical treatment. The preliminary agreement on this point has been achieved with a German organization, and the partners are planning to set up a charitable foundation to support the project. Still "Novinskoye" is interested in cooperation with other foreign organizations that act in the same field.
