Electronic Bulletin Board on Health Care

Get the latest information on AIHA in the US-NIS Organizations section of the Website.

The American International Health Alliance (featured in the October issue of Civil Society: East and West) recently established the AIHA Information Clearinghouse, which includes a computerized bulletin board and conferencing system. The system consists of three "conferences" (listed below) accessible to IGC/Glasnet subscribers. The conferences will include trip reports by AIHA partners, abstracts from health policy and medical journals, and other information on medical assistance programs in the NIS. The Clearinghouse will also provide an "on-line" forum for AIHA partners and other IGC users to discuss medical and health care issues.

IGC subscribers can access the IGC Conferencing system by typing "c" from the IGC Main Menu. At the "Conf?" prompt type"?" to see the commands available. The October-November issue of AIHAs newsletter CommonHealth included a very readable four- page introduction to IGCs Conference commands.

Non-IGC members cannot access AIHAs conferences. However, AIHA can, upon request, send new submissions to the bulletin board as regular e-mail to users of Internet and other networks. For more information contact Mark Doctoroff at the National Public Health and Hospital Institute: (202) 408-0229. Or, simply e-mail your request to: [email protected]. For information on opening an account on IGC/Glasnet, call (415) 442-0220.
