The Soros Foundation, in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Education, the American Council of Teachers of Russian, and the International Cultural Initiative Foundation, has organized workshops to train approximately 200 "teacher trainers" in a secondary school curriculum intended to teach market economics. Nine experimental centers have been set up in various parts of Russia to test and refine the curriculum and a Russian-American Center for Economics Education has been established in Moscow.
