For a little over a year now, the Department of Commerce has been operating the Business Information Service for the Newly Independent States or BISNIS. BISNIS publishes both a Bulletin and a newsletter titled Search for Partners, and also offers a "Flashfax" service. The latter offers timely faxes on a variety of subjects accessible from a simple menu. (The Flashfax number is 202-482-3145.) BISNIS's publications offer a wealth of information to subscribers and are free. Search for Partners, for example, recently gave detailed profiles of 22 companies in Ukraine and four in Georgia seeking business partners. To be added to the BISNIS mailing list, contact:
