Teach English in Ukraine, under the auspices of the Ukrainian National Association. The program, launched last year by Professor Zirka Voronka, will place 100 volunteers this summer in 38 cities in Ukraine to teach English for periods of 4-6 weeks. Americans teach intensive courses through classes located at scientific institutes, hospitals, newspapers, etc. Volunteers pay for travel and visa costs; in-country costs are assumed by hosting istitutions. Some experience with teaching is desirable, as is some knowledge of Ukrainian. Longer-term positions are also a possibility.
