CCSI received the following message on February 16, 2000:
The Center of Youth Initiatives, a nonprofit organization from Kyrgyzstan, is looking for a partner to collaborate on the project 'Together to Elections! Countrywide Show Tour' that will target young voters in the Kyrgyz Republic. At the present time our organization is studying the election process and how to increase the level of young voters' participation in it.
In December people of Kyrgyzstan will be electing the President. At this point we have a draft project but it contains a lot of organizational aspects that we are inexperienced in. It also involves very specific things like how media works, what motivates young people, how trends are established. These are very hard to learn, but we are willing to do that. Therefore we are looking for a consultant who has experience in organizing campaigns similar to Rock the Vote and who could help us build our capacity through counseling services, training workshops or expertise.
We will appreciate any kind of assistance and are looking forward to close collaboration and a reply from interested persons.
Sincerely,
Sharshek Uulu Shamil
