World Bank Conference on Gender Issues

The World Bank is hosting a conference on gender issues for the Europe/Central Asia region. This conference will take place at the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC from 7-8 June. We are interested in inviting a combination of academics and activists (both from the US and Europe/Central Asia region) to speak on a variety of issues affecting women of the region. The conference is organized around 7 general themes: If you are interested in participating, please send a CV and brief writing sample on the topic to this address ([email protected]) or to fax 1-202-522-2753 as soon as possible. Feel free to circulate this as you see fit. Presentations should not exceed 20 minutes, and interpretation is available for non-Anglophones. Some funding will be made available, however details have yet to be determined. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have further questions. Thank you for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.
