International Women In Science And Engineering (IWISE) Leadership Program


The International Women in Science and Engineering (IWISE) Leadership Program will bring 15-20 women scientists from developing or transitional countries to the United States from 14 June to 6 August 1999.

IWISE promotes the professional growth of international women scientists through:

IWISE participants will work with a scientist or engineer at Iowa State University or the University of Iowa on research projects of mutual interest. They will also attend a series of leadership seminars and workshops, and develop grant proposals to support their research upon returning home. IWISE will support travel expenses from the home country and living expenses in the United States.

Eligibility

Applicants must: Special consideration will be given to applicants seeking to develop projects to improve living conditions for women in their home countries. IWISE does not support work toward advanced degrees.
