Information Manager U.S.-Ukraine Foundation

 

The U.S.-Ukraine Foundation is seeking a full-time, Washington-based Information Manager for the USAID-funded Community Partnerships Project (CPP). CPP is a USAID-funded project to develop education and training programs for local governments in Ukraine. CPP has established 18 partnerships between U.S. and Ukrainian communities. These partnerships work to solve targeted problems in the projects five focus areas: economic development, local budgeting, housing and communal services, transportation, and citizen participation. In addition, CPP has established four Regional Training Centers to provide classroom-type training for partnered and non-partnered communities in Ukraine.

Responsibilities will include:
*Assisting Communications staff in Washington and Kyiv to plan content, gather information, write and solicit articles, design, edit, and produce the project's newsletter and journal.
*Communication with media, support of partner community press relations efforts, gathering and organization of media coverage on project.
*Preparation of press releases, fact sheets, topic booklets, and other informational materials on project as required.
*Working with Communications staff to maintain and expand project web site.
*Working with Deputy Project Director to gather information and produce reports on project activities.
*Supporting communication with project participants from 18 U.S. communities.
*Web-based and other research for publications and other materials.
*Some database and mailing list maintenance.

General Requirements:
*MA or BA with significant experience required.
*Background in International Studies or related field; strong interest in NIS region.
*Strong computer skills (word processing, database, Internet; desktop publishing and basic photo/graphic experience preferred).
*Experience with publications, press relations, and web development helpful.
*Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
*Knowledge of Ukrainian language helpful.
