The American Consulate in St. Petersburg is seeking a Personnel Assistant.Major duties and responsibilities of the job are:
Desired Qualifications:
- Responsible for dependent/local American employment program (advertising positions, coordinating interviews, processing paperwork, payroll).
- Supervises FSN Personnel Clerk and makes work assignments, provides guidance and reviews work, briefs Administrative Officer on work accomplishments, problems and proposed solutions/options. Serves as backup for FSN Personnel Clerk when incumbent is on leave.
- Counsels officers and other American employees on full range of personnel services, entitlements and requirements, counsels FSN employees upon request of American supervisors, prepares/processes personnel actions, reports, and other related documentation.
- Maintains American personnel records and ensures security of records, maintains resource materials essential to Personnel Section's responsibilities, including reporting due dates and preparation and transmission of completed reports to the Department of State.
- Transmits time and attendance records for all American employees, prepares telegrams to pay center, noting corrections that should be made in salary or allowance payments.
Applicant must be an American citizen. Completion of secondary school is required and completion of college/university or post-secondary training is desirable.
Experience in the federal or private sector in personnel-related work is desirable as is previous supervisory experience. A high-level of oral and written skills is required.
The position is full-time and salary is dependent on previous relevant experience.
