Senior News Editor/Correspondent, Central Asian/Caucasus DeskRadio Free Europe/Radio Liberty is seeking a Senior News Editor/Correspondent for its Central Asian/Caucasus Desk. This position is a 1-year contract, based in Prague, Czech Republic.
The Senior News Editor/Correspondent for the Central Asian/Caucasus Desk writes and adapts major news stories and features, evaluates source material, develops original sources, edits news and features as assigned, and coordinates coverage with respective Broadcast Services.

- Native-level spoken and written English
- A university degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent practical experience in one of these disciplines
- Broad and detailed knowledge of political, economic, and social structures of the Central Asian and Caucasus broadcast areas, as well as strong general knowledge of international affairs
- Thorough knowledge of news requirements in the broadcast regions
- Ability to create broadcast-ready reports often including audio actualities in the body of the text
- Demonstrated strong commitment to journalistic objectivity and integrity

- Reporting experience in the broadcast region
- Fluency in Russian and/or a language of the Central Asian/Caucasus broadcast area
- Proven ability to function effectively with people from widely different national and cultural backgrounds
