Fellowships for periods of three to seven months covering international transportation, a monthly living stipend, health insurance and allowances for books and travel within the host country are available to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Krgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

These Fellowships are available to U.S. citizens currently enrolled in their second or terminal year of graduate or professional school or to recent graduates of those schools in the fields of business and economics, law, journalism, public administration, environmental management, education reform, public health and information science.

Fellows will travel to a country to deepen their understanding of the current reforms and become familiar with the scholarly resources in their fields in their country of assignment.

Funded by the Research and Training for Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union Act of 1983 of the U.S. Dept. of State these Fellowships have a February 2 deadline.
