New York University's Center for War, Peace, and the News Media seeks a Program Coordinator to help administer its media-sector projects in Russia. The Center is the founder and partner of the National Press Institute (NPI), a Russian NGO with a staff of 45 at seven sites throughout Russia. NPI works to strengthen Russia's independent media--primarily regional non-state newspapers--through a variety of innovative training, consulting, and technology projects. More information about NPI's work is available (in Russian) at http://www.npi.ru.The Program Coordinator, based at the Center's office in New York, will report to the Director for Eurasian Programs and be responsible for the following:
The Center seeks candidates with the following qualifications:
- Project development research;
- Coordination of U.S.-based program work;
- Budget tracking and project budgeting;
- Assistance in U.S. fundraising efforts for NPI;
- Development and distribution of promotional materials
- Maintenance of project files;
- Translations of Russian documents into English.

- BA in related field (MA preferred);
- at least 2 years experience in similar work;
- excellent written and oral communications skills;
