National Council on Economic Education 1998-99 Program
to Train Writers of Economic Education Instructional Materials
in Central Europe and Eurasia
The National Council on Economic Education (NCEE) will train up to twelve (12) writers of economic education instructional materials from the former Soviet Union, the Baltic states, and central Europe and twelve (12) writers from the U.S. in a five day workshop in fall 1998. Participants will be required to develop an economics lesson plan that uses an active learning approach and is appropriate for use in their respective countries. Feedback will be provided to all participants for improvement of their lesson. The U.S. faculty will work intensively with writers on improving their lesson to a publishable form.
The NCEE is seeking outstanding economic educators from higher education and schools who have the commitment and support to continue developing high quality economic education instructional materials after completing this program. Housing, meals, and transportation will be covered by the NCEE.
Please note: This program is not a study tour. It requires extensive work during the seminar, as well as continued writing for one year after the conclusion of the seminar program. Failure to fulfill all program responsibilities will disqualify participants from all future NCEE training and other programs.
