The Internet Access and Training Program in Russia, a program of the Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs administered by Project Harmony, works to strengthen civil society links between Russia and the United States of America through the development of free and open communication between citizens and organizations.The American non-for-profit organization, Project Harmony, announces a Small Grants Competition and a Contest for Internet Resources in order to foster the development of academic and professional Internet resources in the Russian language. The competition and the contest support the process of creating and developing Russian-language Internet resources for academic and professional communities in the humanities and social sciences. Alumni of exchange programs financed by the US government and other Russian citizens are invited to take part in the competition and the contest.
The general budget is $250,000. The minimum award is $500 and the maximum award is $7,500. The closing date for the mini grants competition is February 7th, 2000.
Rules for the competition and the contest, applications with recommendations for applicants, a list of applications received to be reviewed by the grants panel, a web-based application, and a list of winners will all be published and available at the IATP website: http://iatp.projectharmony.ru/grant.
