The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Technical Cooperation Centre has an opening for an intern to assist with compiling information on best international practices in migration management and disseminating such information to IOM field offices in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The Intern will also assist in finalizing and updating a glossary of migration terminology, which will eventually be translated into Russian and perhaps other languages. Other potential intern projects include collecting and compiling information on illegal migration to and through the former Soviet Union, and assisting with various IOM reports, both for internal use and for publication. The ideal candidate will be available beginning in February for a period of 3-4 months, but this is negotiable. Intern compensation is determined under guidelines issued by IOM Headquarters in Geneva, and ranges from 500 to 1300 Swiss Francs per month, depending upon education level and whether the intern comes from outside the local commuting area. A university degree is required, with preference to a person with a graduate level degree in law or public administration. Experience in border control or other law enforcement- related area also a plus.
